There are currently 65 Comforting Guardian Angels in our program.   We volunteer our time and talent by creating angels and then mailing them, at our own expense, to bring comfort and hope to people in need. 

Once a  week, usually on Sunday morning, each member will receive 2 lists of angel requests (sent to the email address you supplied when you joined our program).   One list contains all the angel requests we received for the previous week with a brief description of why the angel was requested. The other is the list of requests assigned to your group.

You are responsible only for mailing angels to those assigned to your group; however, if you have time and want to send more angels to names on the long list, you are welcome to do so.  That would be great!  :) Please don’t feel you need to send to all of them. If you see a request marked as URGENT, we do ask that all of our Angels send to that one immediately.

Once you have mailed your Angels, please e-mail the number of angels you have sent to Susan Brown - her contact info can be found on your list.  Sue keeps a running total of all the angels we mail and reports this back to the group each month. 

Our prayers are more important than the number angels we mail!  If you get overwhelmed by the mailings at any time, or need some time off for vacation or family crisis, do not hesitate to reply to any list you receive and tell us you need to have your mailings adjusted. 

Enclosure Information
Please include the following (or something similarly worded) with all mailings

The angel you choose to send is entirely up to you.  Ideally, it should fit in a regular envelope able to be mailed with a regular stamp (larger or bulky angels may require extra postage or hand canceling and that's important if you are considering costs).  Some of us print cards from our computers and include one with an angel, others just print out a simple sheet of paper with our enclosure information.

We usually mail these angels anonymously.  Your return address label can read, Comforting Guardian Angel and your home address (sometimes the angels are undeliverable and get returned).  You can write a few words of encouragement and sign your first and/or last name. Many of us use our own special message in addition to the explanation of the program.  ALWAYS put 'requested by' and the name of the person who requested the angel somewhere on the card or envelope.  We don't want to frighten anyone and have them wondering how this bunch of strangers got their address!

Yahoo Group

 
Another dimension to our program, aside from mailing out angels to those in need, is communicating with the other members.  We use yahoo groups to share ideas, to offer each other support or just to get to know each other.   Please don't hesitate to reply to any email when you join the group.

Member Requests

 As for requesting angels, we absolutely welcome requests from our members!  If you are Emailing a request, please be sure  the subject line reads:

“Angel Request for (name of person you are requesting an angel for)"

Requests for an Angel can be posted directly to the group list by members gaartist@yahoogroups.com but be sure to send a copy of the request to requests (we sometimes miss a request that is posted to the group and this copy ensures that your request will make the weekly list.)

OR

simply complete the form on the "Request an Angel" page and Connie, our  Request Coordinator, will take care of the details.
